Where are attachments saved?

Postby jasondavis » Sat Mar 13, 2010 12:02 am

I am curious, when I add attachments to a MNK file, does it copy it's own version of the attached files to the MNK file or does it rely on the source file destination?

For example, if I make a My Notes Keeper file and I attach "testing.exe" file to mynoteskeeper document, then I save the MNK file to a USB drive and then try to open the MNK file on a completewly different PC, will it open the attached files in my MNK file or will it be looking for the file on the other PC?

To simplify the question, does an attachment just create a bookmark/shortcut link to the file or actually add REAL copy of the file?

Thanks for clarifying this for me! =)

Yes, it will be a real copy if you choose for Insert-Attachment.
But you can also choose to insert an Attachment as a shortcut, then it will not be a real copy. So you have both choices :D
